Wedding flowers in Autumn

October 7, 2018

Working with the seasons can not only give you the best value for money with your wedding flowers &  help to ensure the quality of blooms, but also will reflect the outdoor's at the time of your wedding.

Autumn offers an abundance of tones & textures and the opportunity to create plenty of interest in the overall look, as colours become more vibrant & warmer.

Large varieties of foliage's, blend beautifully with the seed heads left from the summer blooms as well as rich tones of berries in reds, oranges & yellows.

Whether you choose the accent tones of red, burgundy, orange, deep purple & magenta or earthy neutral tones of creams, & browns there are several colour palettes that work beautifully to reflect the season.

Perhaps some striking seasonal blues & purples such as aster daisies, acontium, artichoke flowers, hydrangea and ornamental cabbage or even pinks with nerines, amaryllis, bouvardia, astilbe, astrantia, sedum and pink snowberries - Autumn also offers the chance to be bold with textural foliages berries & grasses.

Many varieties of flowers such as roses for example are available all year, however autumn offers up other flower choices which can add beautiful variation to arrangements.Dahlias are to autumn what peonies are to summer but with a longer flowering season and wider colour choice, definitely a firm favourite at this time of year.

As the summer season ends, Whites are not what naturally comes to mind when you think of Autumn palettes, as we picture more earthy tones, yet against some beautiful autumnal foliage's and textural seed heads white can feature just as well in an autumnal wedding theme.

Autumn is the season to be bold and look at what nature has on offer!
